Getting my nails done is my little slice of vanity that makes me feel good and confident. I feel more inclined to type and work because I’m looking at a fresh nail set. I feel good because getting my nails done is an act of self-care.
There are end-of-year-wraps for just about everything; it only makes sense for me to pay homage to the nail sets (and my nail technician) that carried me through the year. I’m not sure if there is any scientific evidence that proves getting your nails done improves your mental health, but I will stand in as proof that it does — tremendously. This was the year when if something went wrong, I could say, “Welp, at least I have my nails done.”
