There are two things I’m tightly holding onto right now: my will to live and a good lip balm. These lip balms solve a very important issue: dry, flaky, lifeless lips. I’m not someone who purchases several of the same product because most of the time, it’s unnecessary; I like to be intentional with what I choose to spend money on. Although I won’t always have each of these balms on hand at once, each one is worth the investment when I need it. A hydrating lip balm is something that absolutely makes my life easier.
A clear lip balm works perfectly when you need to run errands but still want moisturized, luscious-looking lips or need something to pair with your favorite lip liner that you won’t have to reapply every 30 minutes. You can also put them on top of your favorite colored lip products for extra shine. I can confidently say these are the best clear lip balms I’ve tried thus far and would definitely purchase again.
Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-Balm

I grabbed this lip balm on sale last year without knowing anything about it, and it has been one of the best purchases of my life. I couldn’t believe how moisturized my lips felt all day when I first tried it. It’s made of lanolin, a natural moisturizer derived from wool that has been used to treat dry skin for thousands of years. If you prioritize having 100% natural products, Lanolips is one of your best options.
Also, this lip balm is a multi-use product; you can use it on your cuticles, skin patches, elbows, and wherever else your skin needs extra care.
Essence Super Peptide Glossy Lip Treatment

This slim treasure almost always makes it into my mini bag. This clear lip balm has peptides, vitamin E, and shea butter. It has a sweet smell and doesn’t require much, so it will last you. It’s hydrating, non-sticky, and smooth. And you can’t beat its price at right under $5, but it feels like nothing cheap.
Eadem LeChouchou Lip Softening Balm

Eadem may have developed a cult following, but don’t let that deter you. This lip balm is too good and actually lasted me several hours while I was out and about. It’s formulated with lactic acid, African mongongo butters, and a collagen-boosting peptide. I love that it offers a cooling sensation when you apply it, thanks to its metal applicator. The thick consistency, though not too thick, allows a little to go a long way, so you get your money’s worth. The Eadem lip balm works great as an overnight lip treatment as well.
Olehenriksen Pout Preserve Peptide Lip Treatment

This lip treatment makes my lips look and feel great. It is a bit thicker than I’d like, so I have to be careful not to apply too much at once. Alongside peptides, this lip balm consists of kokum and mango seed butter for nourishment, Scandinavian cloudberry oil for moisture, and açai sterols to strengthen the skin barrier and provide hydration. The clear one is vanilla bonbon scented.
